Isn't this true of most systems that ship with Windows these days? You basically don't own the system anymore. You are the product.
Try setting your country/region to Ireland. Everything still in English, and the good ol' EU makes this stuff illegal. Often works

Gotta love the support agent's response "So, you can disable it by .... you can't disable it. HAND" At least they didn't recommend a reinstall of the OS which seems to be standard practice in futile support responses these days.

Same with , they force new ad bloatware down your throat with every update.
You can still remove it though with Android Debug Bridge:

I bought a Lenovo laptop that had the Superfish adware (I found out while programming my own websites and it was injecting requests). I won't purchase another Lenovo device.
With root+Lineage OS you'll probably receive sec updates long after Lenovo abandons the device.

They did this on laptops a few years ago. The adware was embedded in the BIOS. It would also reinstall with a fresh Windows install. It's absolutely appalling. By BIOS embed its worse than uninstallable Facebook apps etc. on Android which can be removed by rooting/custom image.

Signs that a formerly good company that was flying high is being ripped apart by pirates on its way to bankruptcy.

After the super fish scandal I wasn’t considering their products, but thank you for the reminder.
I hate this form of income augmentation. If I pay for something, I want the payment to cover the costs so I’m not surprised later. I don’t want to pay for a streaming service with commercials or buy an IoT control device that has a surprise subscription plan required later on.

Being up front, like selling a kindle with a cheaper option if you’re okay with ads, is the right way to do this kind of thing IMO.

Lenovo had a good thing going for it when it inherited the IBM thinkpad line, and it ran that into the ground through the years

Jeez, I think I got lucky as I have turned off all updates on my Yoga tab to keep using an old version of Kodi that still works with SAMBA. I was going to buy a Lenovo laptop soon, but I'll steer clear!
I'm not going to start this rant again, but their 2k$ ThinkPads aren't much better these days. Horrendous user experience :(
This feels like bait for an OS debate and I’m … considering taking it.
Thank you for reminding me to not consider, even for a moment, buying any Lenovo hardware personally or procuring any at work.

Ahh, tablet, not laptop. If it makes you feel better, my experience with samsung androids is only marginally better.

Reinstall a fresh copy of Windows? Or switch to Linux. Who sticks with the OEM software.
